Please suggest tracks for my Couch-to-5k running playlist

I am going to start C25K later this week (have just ordered some running leggings, managed to acquire a good quality sports bra over the weekend, the countdown is ticking)

Next up on my list of things to organise is a playlist. Obviously for the first few weeks I will probably not need more than one solitary track as I will not be running for very long, but as the weeks go by I will need to have more and more songs - and having a nice long playlist will mean that it doesn't all get too boring too quickly.

What are your favourites to run to? Ideally I am looking for tracks that are at least a couple of decades old and have stood the test of time rather than the latest pop hits. I admit to having deeply uncool music tastes - to give you an idea of how deeply uncool, the first track in my playlist is going to be "Walking on Sunshine", and I don't particularly feel the need to become more educated and up to date there Smile

Spotify has running playlists (just search under "running), but I prefer the daily mix they create for you, based on your highlighted favourites.

I didn't enjoy listening to music when running, but enjoy audiobooks :)

I also preferred listening to audio books when I was doing Couch 25K - they take your mind of any discomfort you might be feeling in a way that music doesn't :)

I already listen to audiobooks during my daily hour-long walks (which I am intending to replace with the same duration of running in the long run) and my experience is that it is too easy to drop the pace and slow right down, and my walk becomes more of a gentle stroll. I am switching to running to try to make the exercise more challenging, and I feel that I need to reasonably up-tempo beat to set a pace and stick to it which spoken word won't help with.

Rather tragically I find it very amusing to run to Eye of The Tiger imagining myself as a middle aged female Rocky so perhaps I'm not the best person to take advice from!

These are good and a great place to find a starting point for your own personalised playlist.

@DidIMissSomething perfect thank you - that is exactly the kind of suggestion that I am after - and if it's tragic then well I am exactly that kind of tragic myself. Brilliant.

Welcome to the Black Parade - MCR
Stay the Night - Zedd
Judas - Lady Gaga
Misery Business - Paramore

These are some of my favourites.
