Pipe on side of house - what is it?!

Does anyone know what this pipe is from?

It constantly drips - like 2 buckets full a day.

It's on the side of my house, used to have a plastic cover but it's disintegrated over time, I've put that foam in as there was a massive gap and I was worried mice might get it.

It must be something to do with the heating system but I've had a plumber and a boiler engineer out and they just shrug their shoulders and don't know. I've contacted the company that built the house but they couldn't help as the house is over 7 years old and their records don't go back that far.

Any thoughts?!

I have one of these as an overflow from the boiler - maybe a different type of boiler. Bit weird that several plumbers don’t know this though!

Yes it's an overflow from a boiler. We have one and it was dripping, got a heating plumber person out not sure what they're called and he instantly knew what it was and fixed it.

Get a plumber that knows about heating systems.

What's on the other side of the wall? Obviously if it's the living room it's a whole different ball game than if it's your kitchen.

It could be the condensate pipe from the boiler, or the blow-off vent pipe. Unusual to use copper pipe for that though?

Do you have any air conditioning units? Nearly all of those have a water drain.

Otherwise, what is on the other side of the wall? (I suppose that’s a bit too obvious really)

My only other guess would be an overflow from a cistern or water tank somewhere.

Good luck!

Looks like the condensate pipe from yer boiler.

Thanks all, you've confirmed what I thought that it must be to do with the boiler.

It's off the external kitchen wall. The copper pipe at the bottom is the gas supply to the oven and hob - the day we moved into the house the gas supply was condemned and we had to have new gas pipes put in!

So what is the problem with the boiler though? Too much pressure? I've looked at every other house on our development and they all have the pipes but none are dripping.
