I have just put the heating on. My little cat was cold.

Little shyest cat jumped up on settee. Only does this when she is cold.
Naturally her comfort trumps all it-is-only-September.

I thought this was going to be a Mrs Slocombe themed thread .

My heating clicked on yesterday, and there is obviously a pipe under the floorboards as the feline Overlord has taken to sleeping there. I've now put one of his sheepskins there, covered by a fleece for his further warmth and comfort.

I might get him a heat pad as he has sore joints.

I'm still in flip flops! Mind you, it's getting a bit chilly at night, first time last night we didn't have the fan on.

I gave in and put mine on today. I was snuggled up on the sofa with a blanket then I realised it probably needed to go on because I have 26 tarantulas who are from South and Central America, and India...so if I'm feeling it cold, then they may start getting too cold too. They don't need heat mats, but the general rule is that if you're comfy, they're comfy. They don't thank me though...they just go on as normal! haha

Cats giving me no excuse to put heating on one is under my duvet (there is a telltale lump in the middle of my bed) and the other is double-hard so refuses to lie on anything other than double-hard floors despite me providing an array of beds, igloos and blankets I'm definitely a bit chilly so would welcome a feline request for warmth, can't justify it just for humans though obviously 🙄

I think we need to see a photo of said cat.

my friends Norwegians are perfectly able to do without heating.

Oh those Norwegians are gorgeous, I think one of mine is part Norwegian, lovely fluffy feet. 🙂

My cats have an electric heat mat. But I think they find it too hot!

I heard about a mother and kittens dying in a fire due to a faulty electric head pad so I couldn't bring myself to use one (sorry).

I have thought about getting a hot water bottle for them though, but currently they'll have to make do with my lap, the bits of carpet where the radiator pipes are, or in front of the freezer vent.

Snugglesafe heat pads are safer than plug in electric ones if you’re leaving the house.

Thanks for that. I have terrible cat/kitten health anxiety, I couldn't cope with the worry about a plug in one.

I also didn't know about the difference in body temperatures making cats feel the cold before we do. I'll stop teasing them about their top to toe furry jacket and being little softies.

We've switched the underfloor heating on in the bathroom a few days ago and theres a cat on it 24/7, they love it!

My parrot was cold this morning so I put the heating on for him.

Waaah, so cold here today & I'm sat outside at the vet whilst the dog I walk is being treated... Brrrr!
