So I’m a first time mum and I’ve been told by so many mums to start giving baby water at 3/4 months... my daughter is 4 months tomorrow and I’ve been giving her water for 3 days now. But every nappy change there’s been a little bit of poo.. has anyone else had this problem?

wow some ppl are being rough on OP!
my lot had boiled cooled water from 4 months....2 of 3 of mine are (australian) spring/summer born babies so was necessary. third kid (the giant) winter baby but with dry air/ heating he could still be very thirsty. also started food at 4 months all breast feed 12mths. water was offered after a feed, not before. all kids have survived thus far.

thoughts are with you OP. i cant have been the easiest time to be pregnant/have a newborn. wishing you well.

Not until weaning, so reducing the milk intake slightly, and then when it was hot as well.

I started giving DD water before 6m because she was struggling to poo. I was so worried about her at the time that I couldn't give a fig if it was deemed as being too early. I don't regret it, now she's a plucky beautiful two year old, and she still loves water more than any other drink Smile

Well firstly congratulations on babySmile
Is there a reason why you want baby to have a drink of water?
I think it’s pretty much just milk for now, a drop of water won’t hurt, as long as they don’t fill up on it.
