My 3 year old has been admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties. I've just changed over with my partner because she was up all night and I had no sleep.

They've got her on oxygen and given her steroids. She had something a few weeks ago that was similar and we did a covid test which came back negative.

But I'm freaking out that it's Covid related and complete catastrophising. She's been a bit wheezy when she runs around for a few months.

I don't feel like I have the constitution for this right now.

I’m so sorry OP. She’s in the best place. Handhold until someone with a bit more medical knowledge comes along who may be able to reassure you.

Thank you @AllTheWhoresOfMalta

Handhold and honestly, the threshold level of keeping a wheezy preschooler in is low. The almost certainly is the oxygen and steroids will perk her up massively and make a huge difference quickly.

She’s too young really for an asthma diagnosis but do you have any family history of it?

Hope you get reassuring news and she is safely home with you very soon.

Thank you so much @SunbathingDragon

Her dad had really bad asthma as a kid. She was really poorly as a newborn and I feel like I just can't handle her being ill again.

She's been a bit wheezy in the evenings for the last few months on and off. We were talking about taking her to the gps just the other day. Then this happened. The gp heard her breathing over the phone and said take her straight to a &zea
