Net curtains/ blinds- boring question

We've got net curtains we inherited with our house. I don't like them but also I don't like people being able to look in.
I like vertical blinds but they're very expensive. I've had a thought that perhaps individual net panels that look like vertical blinds might work, but can't find any plain ones. Dh doesn't like Venetian blinds, I'm not keen on the dusting of them!
So come on, oh wise ones ! What can I put up at the windows, anyone got any suggestions/ pictures of their windows? Thank you.

I hate nets too. I saved up for the verticals in the most important windows.

I have a TV room at the back of my house and I put cheap roller blinds up in there mainly to stop the sun from spoiling the view of the TV and they look truly amazing. Two small ones at £11.00 each and a large one at £36/00 from Homebase.

Best thing I ever bought

You’ve two options I think

You can get voile panels. Which are much more modern than nets and can look lovely.

You can get day and night blinds, if your budget stretches to it.

Plain voiles are much more contemporary than nets and so much nicer than vertical blinds.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've been debating about plain voile panels, but do they hang straight and flat, or are they better with a bit of "gather " in them, but therefore looking like net curtains! Anyone got any pictures they can show me please?
I've also debated about window film, anyone used that? Bloody windows, I'll just paint the glass, lol

Generally they are gently gathered, you can google images, folks don’t need to post. They don’t look like nets. Ever.

Big no, no to nets or vertical blinds - nets are dust grabbers and those blinds should only be seen in offices etc.

We've got wooden slatted blinds that we tilt a way to let the light in but keep nosy people from looking in, easy to clean with a blind duster and look quite nice

I've got lots of plants on the window sill. For me that is enough to obscure the view in through the window. I don't mind the top half of the window not being obscured

Thanks again for the helpful suggestions.

I'm.having the same dilemma, OP. I'm trying to decide between voiles or sheer roller blinds, which you can get from Blindstogo. I'm not sure if my front window might be too wide for a sheer roller blind though.

I have sheer roller blinds from blinds to go. Love them. You can see out but no one can see in at all.
