ADVICE - doing joint work for a couple any ideas on charging them a joint price rather than individual?

Doing some social media work for a couple - both have different businesses - for example, say I'm charging him £200 for the month and her £100 as she doesn't need as much. Dont want to drop too much but want to do a package. Any ideas how to price this

If they have different unrelated businesses and so you're not saving any time by the fact they happen to be a couple I wouldn't offer any discount and I would think it very strange if they expected one. If one of them goes elsewhere for their social media support you can hardly then start charging the remaining one more, so why do the same in reverse?

I wouldn't tbh and I wouldn't expect it.

I wouldn’t discount here, it doesn’t sound like you’re saving any work, and it’ll get messy if something happens to the couple, or if one feels that you’re prioritising one business over the other.

Separate businesses = separate contracts.

I wouldn’t combine their pricing, they will still need separate invoicing for their own business.

You could offer a small % discount as a referral bonus, and then if one party chooses to move elsewhere, they will no longer qualify - but you’d need to ensure your T&C’s were clear.

I wouldn't be inclined to give them a discount either. Especially If your fees are competitive already. I might offer 10% but there's a chance they'd ask for more. So in a way better not to offer any,

This is a good idea.

It is a good idea but only offer it if you'd be happy to do for any of your customers if they recommended you to a new company who ended up using you - you don't want another client getting wind and saying 'but I got you the business with X and I don't get a discount?'

Ummm I just thought if I post/work for an hour a week at the same time on both accounts might save some time etc. OK will rethink - thanks for the advice folks
