Is it worth paying for a private fly vaccine for under 2 year old?

I'll admit I'm feeling a bit panicky about the winter. My little one is at nursery - her older siblings will have the nasal vaccine but as she is four months off being two she won't get it. I'm worrying about flu and chicken pox. I'm wondering if I should get her privately vaccinated against both or if I am being over cautious? Is anybody else thinking of going down this route for an under 2 year old?

And obviously the title should say flu Grin If we get to the stage where we're needing fly vaccines I really will think we've reached the apocalypse!

I rang about private ones a couple of weeks ago and they said there were none available this year and that all of the stock was being used on the people in the at risk group first.

I think the flu for children is more about them not giving it to more vulnerable people rather than them being at risk themselves .
I’d highly recommend the chicken pox vaccine though had all mine done with that .

Oh that's good to know @charmsofasimplelife. Thanks @Cupcakegirl13 - I agree, I've done it with my older ones but they were a little bit older than my youngest is now. But they can have it from one year so I'll get on with that now

I was told by a doctor the reason not to vaccinate children for chicken pox is that it wears off and could result in then catching it as an adult, which can be severe.
