I met my wonderful partner whilst holidaying abroad. We knew each other from childhood but he left for the US when he was 12 with his parents.

We had 2 years of telephone courtships and decided to meet again at the same destination.

He surprised me with an engagement ring however I accepted it as a promised right. We agreed that we would visit each other regularly- maximum break 3 months.

We have been married for 15 years now and we cannot decide who should move. We have really good jobs and houses.

My husband is always surprised me. He sends me gifts/flowers. Plane tickets etc.

My friends thinks he should move to London because our Adult children are here.

They thinks he is trying to buy my love because he spoils me. They makes suggestions that he must be cheating when am not there.

I have got keys to his home and visits at times without his knowledge as a real surprise for him.

Why can they be happy for me. My plans are to live in the US once I retired. 3 years time. We are extremely happy.

Why can't they be happy for us.

Congratulations, you seem to have managed to make an atypical relationship arrangement work. I know that I personally couldn't have lived with such an arrangement for such a long time and would have moved heaven and earth to be together, but we're all different. I'm happy for you, but I would wonder about whether some of your friends are compatible with your life choices - from your description, they sound as if they have quite stereotyped ideas and are distrustful. In my opinion, strong relationships are built on trust.
