7-year-old can’t ride a bike and is scared of it. Any tips?

I missed the window on the bike thing. We did scooters for too long. And now almost-7-year-old both can’t ride a bike and won’t even try.

Any tips?!? I don’t want to just give up on it, peer group have bikes and DC is missing out on fun and day trips (and knows it).

Dc won’t do a balance bike as they’re for “babies” 🙄

There is no window! You haven't missed it! Leave it until dc wants to.

Bribery.
Flat, smooth surface (grass is hard work and harder to control.
No stabilisers. They distort the balance abd add drag.

Is there a Bikeability scheme near you? Google your local council and learning to ride.

And - look on YouTube for the Pedrin Way. The guy is some slightly bonkers American and mainly seems to yell 'Are you ready to ride a bike' but it worked for us.
