Built in oven (2 months old) dead

I've come downstairs to find it dead - no clock display on and no response to button pressing. I've checked the fuse box and they're all okay and everything else is working. including the hob, which I'm assuming has the same power supply?

Just panicking, Googling and waiting for customer services to open now - just can't see how this can be fixed without massive disruption as it's built in (never had one like that before). Anyone got any experiences of this that turned out okay? Kitchen was done over the summer and was a nightmare experience - don't want bits ripped out again Sad .

It has its own power supply (or should do) separate to the hob. It should also have a dedicated isolation switch somewhere (ours is in a cupboard) so might be worth checking that. And should have it’s own switch on the main electric board.

If there is something wrong with it it should be covered by warranty. As for swapping it out for a new one that’s relatively simple. They just slide out and a new one can be fitted. Don’t worry!

If there’s no power going to it at all it sounds like a problem with the electrical connection rather than the oven itself.

In terms of it being built-in- don’t worry, taking it out won’t affect the surrounding cupboards. Ovens are standard sizes and they just slot into the openings.

You need to find the power supply and isolation switch both should be accessible even if built in. If you weren't using it I would think power supply problem rather than oven.

Hmm...There's a random white switch (like a light switch) in a nearby cupboard - will be the isolation switch? It's there and it's on! I suppose I might need an electrician. Thanks for replies - good to know they come out easily anyway!

It probably is a job for a tradesperson, even though the initial checks are not actually that complicated. Could be as simple as the plug in wire at the back of the oven coming loose, or just a loose connection in the socket itself.

Can you go back to your kitchen fitter?

There should be an isolators switch for all built in appliances. Ours are in a cupboard, labelled .

Are other appliances working as normal?
