I have been sitting on my hands about this for ages, but has anyone else found the strangely overly enthusiastic man in the Parsley Box ads really worrying. "No - the Lasagne!"
I find him right up there with with the "But, how do you look after your mouth?" woman, but it might just be me....

Paris Lee's advertising Panten shampoo with obvious hair extensions, talking about strong hair making them a strong woman.......

SerenityNowwwww · 20/09/2020 08:46

I think the hair is always fake in those ads. And yes that too - alongside (crikey I cant remember her name) the model who was attacked wit acid?

Chicchicchicchiclana · 20/09/2020 09:12

That ad where the woman with cerebral palsy (I think - or a similar disability) mimes tossing off her boyfriend with a packet of maltesers.

cricketmum84 · 20/09/2020 09:43

Oh there's the vacuum one too where he vacuums up like a full tin of spaghetti hoops! Why would you do that off a hard floor?? Why would you not just clean it up normally!

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 20/09/2020 09:54

Ugh the vax wet vac ad makes me HEAVE. Imagine emptying out all that shite? BOKE!

All the usual suspects: Oral B, Asda etc. Also any ad that has some simpering fanny doing a cover of a rock or indie song.

Mrsjayy · 20/09/2020 10:15

Those spaghetti hoops make me queasy imagine cleaning it out Envy

Just get a bit of kitchen roll and pick up the. Hoops ffs

SabrinaThwaite · 20/09/2020 11:00

There’s that awful On The Market advert too - perhaps that boy could use his ad earnings to get a decent haircut?

The most annoying people in ads.
DuaneBenziesvoice · 20/09/2020 15:03

I've never noticed anyone else in the On the Market advert other than the irritating woman in the dowdy brown checked shirt, holding the mini tablet.

That Strongbow ad with the shot pub band and everyone frolicking in the sunshine with friends or going to festivals. Thanks for reminding us of all the stuff we haven't been able to do this summer Hmm

wizzywig · 20/09/2020 15:19

Someones knocking on your door

LadyLindaT · 20/09/2020 17:10

This all begs the question: "Do ads work?"
I don't think that they do.

OP posts:
SerenityNowwwww · 20/09/2020 17:17

Well they do in the respect that you remember their name. In the long run next time you need car insurance or an electric fly trap, a brand name will pop out as ‘familiar’...

LadyLindaT · 20/09/2020 17:50

I agree that they probably work up to a point, in terms of perhaps establishing brand names, but I don't think that they have ever influenced a buying decision that I have made in a positive way. There are certainly brands that I have boycotted because of the awful ads.

OP posts:
SerenityNowwwww · 20/09/2020 18:06

If you are looking for something and there are a load of brands, you might be drawn to a ‘familiar’ name. I also have a list of people I’d never buy from because if annoying ads or irritating celebs advertising them!

SerenityNowwwww · 20/09/2020 18:07

Many many moons ago my sister worked for an agency and they did some howlers. I asked her is they were ment to be terrible /cheesy and she said that actually they were because people talked about them!

LadyLindaT · 20/09/2020 18:46

I think ad agencies probably just sell ad agencies.

topcat2014 · 20/09/2020 19:21

I feel bad about the oral b actress now, hope she is ok.

Dds friends parents at primary school were actors, and in some adverts.

Not much stage acting around atm

LolaSmiles · 20/09/2020 20:27

The annoying ones don't make me want to buy from them, just like the long guilt trip charity adverts put me off donating.

Perfume adverts always confuse me. Who actually thinks of them? Nobody believes a perfume will do any of those things.

bearlyactive · 20/09/2020 20:31

"So I know I'm wearing it... but no-one else will!"

wowfudge · 20/09/2020 20:33

@AuntMasha

Dior Sauvage.

Is that the one with a highly annoying Johnny Depp, staggering about, looking like he’s on meth and having just woken up in a skip?

Yep - that's the one.

Oral B woman makes me shout at the telly. The Tampax ad is dire and perf with Surf is irritating.

wowfudge · 20/09/2020 20:36

It's already been mentioned, but do Purple Bricks think their weirdo estate agent ads are doing them any favours at all? They're already thought of as useless and these ads just enforce that.

SabrinaThwaite · 20/09/2020 20:39

I’m still wondering why Team GB needs an Official Estate Agency?

AlwaysLatte · 20/09/2020 20:41

Sofology. Grrrrrrrr!!!!

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 20/09/2020 22:38

The procrastinating chap in the Ribena advert

CandidaAlbicans2 · 20/09/2020 23:47

All beauty and perfume ads. My normal reaction is to shout, "what a load of bollocks" at them.

I can live with the Dior adverts by shouting “saus-age” at the TV
That's what I do too Grin Makes me giggle every time (yes, I'm easily amused Grin)

AyDeeAitchDee · 21/09/2020 08:28

There's a new one. Only saw it for the first time yesterday!!

Is loads of bums. And telling you how clean they are. People doing squats and all sorts.

I really don't want to be thinking of shitty arses thanks.
