Before I get done for murder.

There was a thread a while back when someone recommended a mouth guard thing. I think it was from Boots? Did it work?

He already has a CPAP machine bit left it somewhere Confused And ear plugs can’t stop the earth tremors...

Anyone able to help?

We sleep separately. Do you have a guest room? Or can you put a sofabed somewhere?

JustResting · 18/09/2020 06:06

I can hear/feel him from every inch in this house!

Is he overweight? DH's snoring used to wake me up before he lost a load of weight.

Watching with interest op. Don't really want to sleep separately but also don't want to turn dh's legs black and blue where I've kicked him so much!

JustResting · 18/09/2020 06:20

Yes, he is. Not much I can do about that one for now, but this mouth guard thing might offer a speedier solution!

I had a mouth guard fitted by my dentist- is used to treat mild sleep apnoea. Cost about £300, but it works brilliantly for me, and my husband has stopped trying to strangle me in the night! How can he have lost the CPAP machine?!

I will suggest it to him... this is one you can buy in the shop. Will get him to Boots in the morning. He’s left his CPAP machine in his house - we don’t live together!

My husband snored terribly and he bought a mouth guard called snorerx and it works like a miracle! I'm in the US so I'm not sure if it might go by a different name in the UK but you could look it up. The first night he used it I checked to see if he was still breathing he was so quiet!

pinkbalconyrailing · 18/09/2020 06:25

I wanted to suggest a cpap machine.

but honestly, you need to sleep separately.

until your dh takes his and your health seriously and loses weight, which is the most effective measurd he can take to reduce snoring, or gets his ass in gear to get a new cpap machine.

alreadytaken · 18/09/2020 06:26

If he lost his CPAP machine he really needs to buy another, sleep apnoea can be fatal.

You could also raise the head of the bed. This doesnt mean extra pillows, unless it's a bed wedge. putnams.co.uk/

You can get bed raisers (put on 2 legs only) or have 4x2 cut to the width of the bed if it's a divan. If he's overweight the bed will need an extra 2x2 somewhere underneath it.

JustResting · 18/09/2020 06:29

Thank you @freezincoldandlovinit I will look up Snorerx. Sounds like a real miracle product!

@pinkbalconyrailing. To be fair to him, he is trying to lose weight, it’s normally not as bad as this!

He’s left his machine in his house. Thanks for tips. I encouraged him to raise his head at about 2 am and it worked temporarily. We don’t always sleep in this bed, so I’m loathe to raise it! Mouth guard would be easier & he could buy doubles for each house...

The one I have is the Silensor-sl. Took a couple of weeks to get use to, but OMG the difference!

JustResting · 18/09/2020 06:36

Huge thanks, @MadauntofA! Will look this up, sounds like just the ticket!
