Vulnerability ones by Brene brown.

ikeairgin · 18/09/2020 09:29

Was just poping on to say the one on vunerability by Brene Brown

Awrite · 18/09/2020 09:34

Monica Lewinsky's one on shame.

Or Ann Cuddy's one on body language.

Probably the latter as the takeaway advice is very useful.

JoanJosephJim · 18/09/2020 09:55

The Power of Introverts by Susan Cain. Ds1 and myself are introverts.

The Monica Lewinsky one is fantastic, also Jon Ronson on how one tweet can ruin your life. The collective baying for blood. Very interesting look at human behaviour.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 18/09/2020 09:57

The procrastination one with the instant gratification monkey.

TeamFreeWill · 18/09/2020 10:33

Jill Bolt Taylor. A neuroscientist that had a stroke. Good insights into how the brain works, and an inspirational ending to her story. It moved me.

Lardlizard · 24/09/2020 19:10

Thanks for all the suggestions working my way though

I love the Tim Urban one. I should watch it again really, maybe tomorrow. Wink

There was also a good one about the right way to tie your shoelaces that has stayed with me for years, although hasn't changed the way that I tie my shoe laces as I can never remember the 'right' way at the time. www.ted.com/talks/terry_moore_how_to_tie_your_shoes

A watch for every one

AlexaShutUp · 24/09/2020 19:42

Definitely the Brene Brown vulnerability ones. She is amazing.

Also, I remember one by a Chinese guy who spent around 3 months actively trying to seek out rejection in order to overcome his fear of it. Sorry, I don't remember his name but it made quite an impression on me at the time.

OhioOhioOhio · 24/09/2020 19:44

Yeah, Brene Brown

Meowscles2020 · 24/09/2020 19:57

The art of asking Amanda palmer

readit · 24/09/2020 20:18

Not a ted talk but I highly recommend The Last Lecture - Achieving Your Childhood Dreams by Randy Pausch. It is extremely powerful and had me in tears by the end, it is full of life advice
