Night out in Manchester

Evening all. I've got a night at a hotel booked, for a week on Saturday, in central Manchester. It's for a birthday treat, for my Sister. The hotel is paid for, though it's only a Premier inn, so not expensive. I'm just in two minds whether to go....On the one hand I don't want to let my sister down, but on the other, it seems ridiculous to be going to a Corona virus hotspot, for a jolly.... I can't find much information online, and the hotel and restaurant are still open, so maybe I'm being a bit wet.....Any opinions?

Hey:

I'd go I'm in Manchester and honestly it feels no different to before we were in a local lockdown. Bars and restaurants are still open as they were, just make sure you book in advance. X

I went a couple of weeks back and it was a lot quieter than usual as locals can't socialise with anyone from a different household. Nearly every pub that we went in checked that we were from the same household before they let us in and all took details for track and trace.

In fact I was due to go tomorrow for food and drinks but the flipping train has been cancelled due to an issue with the signaling Angry

Really? You are thinking of heading to a hotspot for a holiday? Yes that's a daft idea - why would you risk it?

All cancelled
Just not worth the risk.

You’ve done the right thing OP. Much as I am gutted for our hospitality industry, they’ll be in even more shit if we don’t get this thing under control.
