Does anyone have a failsafe brownie recipe I can use please? Just a generic one that I can drop in fillings (nuts and cherries etc) I'm sick of looking for recipes online with endless pop ups, videos, cookie requests, banal life stories before you get to recipe etc!

Thank you kindlyGrin

I use this one that came in a little traybake book. It’s another BBC one.

The best thing is they can be made without bars of chocolate so a good option when you only have store cupboard ingredients (cocoa, butter, sugar, flour eggs).

They are great with or without the coconut. I usually make them without as I don’t normally have coconut in.
I sometimes add cherries with the coconut, or cranberries and walnuts or chunks of chocolate if I have managed to keep it in the cupboard and not eat it Grin

Brownies are something that usually don't turn out brilliantly for me. Used a recipe from a cookery blog called Olive Tomato which uses Greek yoghurt and olive oil (I used liquid coconut oil). This was in lockdown when I couldn't get hold of what I wanted. Added walnuts. Not classic-classic but a lot lower fat, easy, and really nice, I would definitely make them again on both those counts.

I ended up using Jamie Oliver's recipe as it had all ingredients I had at home (lazy) and all was going well but I undercooked then ShockShock It looked fine, crusty top, a bit squidgy on the skewer (but JO said you wanted it a bit squidgy) then left it to cool, came back, went to take it out and had molten brownie oozing all over me BlushHmmBlush So annoyed as my oven usually runs a bit too hot with baking. It still tastes good but looks like dog sick. Wahh!
