Obviously a cold. No cough just snot. No temperature. I’d usually send him in but not sure what to do

If DD stays off school with every cold, she’ll be off until Easter!

Sent mine in with a cold (Snotty and sneezing) but really wasn’t sure what was the right thing to do. Took her temp regularly- no sign of temp and told school I would collect her if needed at any point. Been in for 2 days no problems but still feeling conflicted over it!

My youngest has been in this week with some snuffling & hoarseness but no cough or temperature. The school was absolutely fine with it & seemed slightly surprised I even checked! Our school is quite sensible though

Advice here in Scotland was if a runny nose type cold if child is fit enough send them in. Only test / isolate if one of covid symptoms, which includes the continuous cough.

Susannahmoody · 15/09/2020 17:48

Yup, sent both mine in with colds

Tis the season

Please do send them in. A snotty nose is NOT on the guidelines as a symptom of Covid. So long as your child feels well enough to be in school then we want them in.

Yes. Both my boys have snotty colds at the moment and they are going to school ( both primary age) they don't have a cough or a temp just the normal back to school cold virus. I wouldn't keep them off for it normally so I'm not keeping them off now.

@ProudAuntie76

I’m keeping them off with head colds to avoid them passing it on to other children or teachers.
I'm doing this (I am WFH) I just think it's less complicated this way!
