Flu Jab question

My DM is in her late 70s and has been contacted about a flu jab (either by Lloyds or her surgery, not sure which). For various reasons she will be spending time nearer where I live than her own surgery soon and I was thinking of booking a pharmacy appointment for her.

She has just said that she has never had the flu jab before though, or in fact almost any jabs at all apart from during early childhood. I assumed she had but this is over 70 years of personal immunity.

In this situation, would it be a better bet to try to get her to do this through her own surgery, where they would probably be more knowledgeable about her general history there and on hand if any strange reactions do happen? Or is the process much the same anywhere? Would there even be much of a chance of getting an appointment in-house, I think they have not done face to face for some time even though they have spoken to her.

Part of the process for administering the vaccines is about managing any reactions because that is pretty critical from a patient safety perspective, so it shouldn't make a difference where she has it.

Process pretty much the same everywhere - they'll ask if if any previous reaction, any egg allergy (the vaccine has egg in it), jab her and done.
Make sure she says she's already had her flu vaccine if they try and book her in for one next time she's at her gp

They will be able to manage a reaction wherever she has it done - a reaction would be immediate and won't be related to what's on her medical records

Same everywhere, they ask you to wait for a few minutes after you’ve had it done in case of a reaction. This is the same whether you’ve had it before or not.

Thanks, that is reassuring.
