This is a LOT of money for this area, and I have never heard of this estate agent before - but the PHOTOS!!!! - especially the one with the bed Hmm. And who would take photos of the loo with the seat up? I bet you can't find worse...

Photo 20 is my favourite. Who's for a game of spot the photographer?

ToadCandle · 14/09/2020 17:21

You lot obviously didn’t zoom in on photo 20 😂

Would you buy this house?
CassandraCross · 14/09/2020 17:23

Those photosShock, fuzzy, out of focus, random.

My favourites are:

No.11 - out of focus view of wall
No.15 - door and clothes airer
No.20 - appealing dark corner of room
No.22 - fuzzy cupboard
No.28 - basin and toothbrush
No.29 - mouldy bathroom with flannels so stiff you could sand wood with them.

It's just so odd.

It’s a very cheap marketing only agent as far as I can see.

www.99home.co.uk/

£99 for a Zoopla listing that you have to put together yourself. I wonder if it’s a probate or quick sale due to financial issues or similar as it looks very empty and like the seller hasn’t got the cash to do more to make it better presented. I’d view it if it was around here as I’m in Oxfordshire, it would be on for about £500k to £600k around here but you’d get good rental income from the annex.

EstherLittle · 14/09/2020 17:46

In the picture of the mirrored wardrobe you can see both of the photographers elbows. Looks bizarre and a bit creepy.

DogInATent · 14/09/2020 17:46

Phone photos taken by the owner would be my guess. Either dirt cheap "agency" or a Covid thing.

frumpety · 14/09/2020 18:00

It could be very lovely with some time and a lot of money spent on it. The worst photo's ever though Grin

rwalker · 14/09/2020 18:04

can't stop laughing at pictures

ApolloandDaphne · 14/09/2020 18:16

Loving the photos. It could be a great house but it needs a bit of work!

needsahouseboy · 14/09/2020 18:21

I really like this house. I know the are a bit crap but I really like it 😁

IAmcuriousyellow · 14/09/2020 18:23

I’d buy that, I think it’s a lovely house that needs some looking after. My favourite photo is the one of the washing up bowl on the floor by the front door with what is possibly a bog brush in it. Never leave the house without it Grin

SimpleComforts · 14/09/2020 18:30

The photos are awful and I've no idea on the location or the price it that could definitely be a very good house

I wonder if it's currently let and the tenants aren't playing ball for the estate agent visits.

HazelBite · 14/09/2020 18:37

Am I the only one puzzled by a summerhouse in the front garden???

(Gosh where I live in Hertfordshire that would be £900k plus)

whensmynexthol1day · 14/09/2020 18:39

My 5 year old could have done better! They remind me of the photos I end up deleting from my phone because my 3 year old has gone around the house randomly clicking buttons.

84claire84 · 14/09/2020 18:49

@ToadCandle

You lot obviously didn’t zoom in on photo 20 😂
This wins it for me.

The plonker is stood in the bloody mirror 🤦🏻‍♀️

Think my 6year old could do better

namechangenumber204 · 14/09/2020 18:53

Banwell is a weird kind of place - nice little village but made truly horrendous because of the main road that runs through it. It has a bottleneck so is also clogged. It has been trying to get a bypass for years, I think it has just been approved, but yes, the OP is correct - that is a rather high price for a house that needs work, it's just outside Weston super Mare. The photos though Hmm They obviously thought more is more, so took photos of every conceivable thing!

chrislilleyswig · 14/09/2020 18:55

I can't stop laughing at the elbows Grin

willstarttomorrow · 14/09/2020 19:11

Well they have obviously mowed the lawn which is a plus.....

The pictures are shocking and I have no idea about the prices in the area. To be honest, a house needing work will not put people off it it is priced to reflect this. Lots of people (myself included) are more put off by inflated prices for work that has ripped the soul out of period property or is the rather 'personal' sellers taste.

There is a deluded woman trying to sell a period stone terrace near my workplace who has basically turned a three bed into a two bed, created an unusable attic room and is fond of murals and paint affects last seen on Changing Rooms. This is without the master bedroom being turned into a studio for her pole dancing company (sex dungeon) and according to the agent several cats and a resulting stench of cats piss. I know this because my friend contacted him when looking for a house and the one she offered on fell through. She thought it had 'good bones' despite the shocking listing. The agent basically said 'look, you seem a nice person. Do not waste your time, it is a dump and over priced but she is convinced it is worth what it is on for'. It came off the market but I see it is back on now the market has gone crazy again. Every other house that comes up in that terrace sells instantly because they are usually nice family homes with character

Byllis · 14/09/2020 21:48

I like the house, so if I liked the area the photos wouldn't put me off viewing. I'd be concerned that if I liked it enough to offer that actually managing to buy it would be difficult as the use of the crap photos sends out a worrying message. I'd think maybe the vendors were half-hearted about selling, disorganised, etc.

@willstarttomorrow - yes, I'm seeing more and more period houses that have been made all open-plan downstairs, backs disfigured with huge extensions, nice windows removed to make way for balconies and so on. All these things can be done well, but generally they don't seem to have much thought put in. And they are so very current it's hard not to imagine they'll need updating in ten years' time even if they are to a buyer's taste now.

Nyclair · 14/09/2020 22:05

Hell no!

Ellmau · 15/09/2020 00:08

And the photo of the BED!

Seriously, this is an online 'agent' and the photos obv taken by the clueless vendor.

I do not believe it is a special architect's design either, as claimed, it looks like bog standard 1930s to me.
