Can anyone interpret my 9 week olds behaviour please?

My 9 week old has been going through a growth spurt the last few days I think, being more clingy and unsettled, especially in the evenings. There is one thing happening which I don't understand. The last few mornings when he wakes up and I try to feed him the bottle he screams / squeals and cries as soon as it goes into his mouth, even though he shows hunger cues (and should be hungry). He swallows a few times and then squeaks again and doesn't want the bottle. Then he seems to be crying because he's hungry and frustrated. However, this only seems to happen for the morning feed. The rest of the day he feeds normally and seems fine.

He used to always be sleepily hungry first thing and feeds were fine.

Any ideas what's going on?

Have you tried going up a teat size? Mine became fussy when he needed a faster flow teat.

Hmm but that doesn't explain why it's only for the first morning feed and not the rest of the time? Also he cries as soon as teat goes into his mouth before he has started sucking.

Sounds like he is extra hungry (I’m guessing it will have been a while since his last feed?) and he is possibly frustrated that it isn’t coming fast enough.

Thrush? Could it maybe be worse in the morning? Does he eventually take the bottle?

I remember how crazy hungry my two always were for their first feed in the morning. Worth trying a bigger teat size just for the morning and see if it works?
