What time is your 13 year old Year 9 child going to bed?

My DD age 13 has had no set bedtime over the whole of lockdown, I just went with the flow and she was usually settled by 11-11.30.

She's now back at school and is thinking she can still have this bedtime. She's an only child so I'm a bit lost on what is an acceptable time for a Year 9/13 year old to be going to bed on a school night and at the weekend.

I'm thinking asleep by 10pm weekly and 11 ish at the weekend or is this too late.

My year nine 13 year old brings her phone down at 10.30pm and goes to sleep then. She gets up around 7am and leaves for school at 8am. I let her choose her own bedtime at the weekend but she’s pretty sensible and doesn’t stay up late just because she can, if she’s tired she’ll go to bed.

We've always had a rule of tech and screens off by 8pm, after that is time for music practice, baths, quiet activities. 10yo has lights out at 9pm, 13yo by 10pm latest (but had usually turned it off earlier). No tech/tv in bedrooms except maybe kindle (not even us). Both up at 7. At weekends we are bit more relaxed and they might stay up later to watch a film with us.

9 on a school night. 10-11 at weekends

My 13yo likes her sleep, we don’t have to set a bedtime. She usually goes up around 9.30 weeknights, but that depends on activities. If she needs to catch up, she sometimes comes home, goes to bed and says not to wake her for food

13 year old. Bed as close to 9pm as I can get him in to bed and lights out 30 mins later.

Lights off 9pm.
I'm Shock at the 10.30/11pm ones.
Assuming 8 hours sleep and 30 minutes to get to sleep after lights out, 11pm takes you to 7.30am, which weekdays is a fairly normal get up time.

Mine starts finishing off whatever she's doing at around 9:30pm, with the aim of being in bed to go to sleep by 10pm.

Op mine has been up late, I can't force her to sleep. With early school mornings I'm sure you'll find they can't sustain late evenings. They will naturally slip back into earlier bedtimes..

At 7.30am DD has to leave the house. Unless you live really close to the school most childre need at least 30-40 minutes and with breakfast and shower at that age they get up around 6.30am.

We say 10-10.30 for our DS but no bedtime at weekends. He's lucky he doesn't need to get up until 7.45 as we live really close to his school

DD puts herself to bed, she generally turns her lights off at 10:30, she gets up at 7:20.
She’s very much a night owl like me, during lockdown she was going to sleep about midnight and getting up at 9am.
