Hey, asking for my neighbour whose toddler has a slight temperature. No testing slots are available at all, so now the whole family has to isolate for two weeks!!!

Is it possible to get a private test? I looked and saw you can get a test online for £99 (same test as nhs uses), does anyone have experience of private testing?

She can not afford another two weeks off work:-(

If they keep checking back, new tests are released all the time. In our area they come out at 10am, 11am, mid day and 8pm that I’m aware of.

New appointments come out at 8pm keep trying online

As others have said, keep checking.

FourTeaFallOut · 10/09/2020 15:06

What are you calling a slight temperature?

LarkDescending · 10/09/2020 15:11

There are private tests available in various places (including at a pharmacy near me and various private GP practices). On other threads some posters have said that schools and childcare settings are requiring evidence of a negative NHS test - rather than a private test - so do check.

None in our area either

Keep checking the site I was checking a couple of hours yesterday as had a cough was telling me to go to Leicester or Aberdeen from Manchester but finally last night there were slots at a site 10 minutes away went this morning fingers crossed result comes back quickly so daughter can go back to school.
The council Twitter also said their was a mobile site which you could just turn up to so also worth keeping a look out.

What's a slight temperature I work for NHS we are allowed up to 37.8 before being sent home. Normal temperature is 35.8 up to 37.8. With a toddler I would be thinking other things before covid like throat Infection, uti , ears etc.

We are in the same situation... No testing slots.
I have a low grade (37.8 ish) dc1 (37.7) and DC 2(37.9) both kids are in varying stages of snottiness, so I am 90% sure it's just a cold, but we have to test right?!
