Halloween ideas please!

Trick or treating is obviously off this year so I was thinking of letting them invite a friend each round for a bit of a party. I was thinking of hiding sweets in bowls of slime with eye balls etc and fingers, making it a bit like a gruesome treasure hunt, a buffet of foods (we do this every year for a halloween tea anyway) maybe a movie. Decorate inside instead of outside.

Any ideas on how to make my halloween trail super fun?

We love Halloween in my house.

Trick or trick is still on for us?! Socially distanced, blah blah...

We live on a very child friendly estate and it’s always so busy on Halloween night, almost everyone decorates and trick or treating is huge.

Its huge on our estate too. Kids are shipped in from other areas to TT here. I just don't think I want my kids knocking on strangers doors during a pandemic!

For Halloween- DS who is an only one, plus his best friend. I’ve booked a wizard themed steam train. Then they will come back here for a Harry Potter themed tea and watch the first HP film.

Blimey! That's more effort than I do for Christmas!

One year I bought a load of inflatable ghosts (I think they were about a pound each) and organised a ghost hunt - each ghost had a part of a puzzle to solve to find some treats.

I love Halloween but I'm struggling to see how trick or treating will be safe - it's all the different hands in bowls of sweets that concerns me. I hope we will at least be able to have some kids round for a mini party, but i guess we'll have to see what is allowed.

I was hoping dd could have small, Halloween theme bday party but even though she would be at school with them every day I'm not sure she would be allowed...

Maybe just family members dress up, Halloween music and silly games??

I have got myself one of those long litter picker / grabber sticks...

I can pick from my sweet stash (pre wrapped in little bags) and drop it into the little darlings "trick or treat" bags - no grubby little grabbing hands and social distancing all in one ....... sorted...

who knows that is genius.

I doubt everyone will be so well prepared though.

There are so many kids that come to this estate that I just don't see how we can socially distance even without the germs on sweets problem.
Last year we went out for 45 mins T&T and came back to dish them out to others. We went through over 100 sweets which is loads considering we had missed huge amounts whilst out ourselves and then had to put up a sign for the crowds still coming!
With so many kids coming onto the estate, I think it ruins it because you are often one of a few knocking on someones door due to the numbers. It is like something out of an American movie.
