Can I return an item without tags

I bought my DS a pair of jeans, he has taken the tags off but has decided he doesn't like them and they don't fit.

Would I be able to get a refund even though tags removed? I have receipt but he can't find the tags and thinks he put them in the bin Angry they are from TK maxx

I doubt it - maybe from somewhere like John Lewis which historically has been known for very good customer service, but I don't think TK Maxx will. You could always try, of course. Sometimes they'll do it just to get you out of the shop.

I'm so annoyed at him taking the tags off before trying on. I'll take it and try anyway

I doubt it. How can you prove they haven't been worn if the tags are off

ShinyGreenElephant · 07/09/2020 08:41

A couple of years ago my ex bought DD a load of clothes from next - all in her size but in a style more suitable for a 4/5 year old, unicorn t-shirts and the like. He took every tag off because I always swap the stuff he buys (its never right) and he wanted to spite me. It was abour £200 worth of stuff and she wouldn't have been seen dead in any of it. Next let me exchange all of it with no problems whatsoever.

Trikc · 07/09/2020 08:44

It’s worth a try. Do you still have the tags? I’d be super polite and acknowledge they would be being helpful if they let you return them. It might help if you found something you could exchange them for.

I think it would be obvious if the JeanS had been worn.

Good luck.

WhatTimeIsItl · 07/09/2020 08:49

Next are really good at exchanging, I remember I had something to change there and it had gone past the return date and they still done it for me with no hassle.

I don't have the tags - I'm sure he has binned them. I'll try and find something else, only trouble with TK max is they have different things every time I go and only the odd size in certain clothes.

I'll let you know how I get on

Now he is telling me they are faulty and the zip won't go up on them - don't know if that will make any difference if I show them that

Yes.

MondeoFan · 07/09/2020 09:47

Yes I'd go with the zip if that's the problem

Trikc · 07/09/2020 10:14

If they are faulty and you have your receipt you should be ok

iswhois · 07/09/2020 10:16

Usually it's exchange or credit note without tags

Ariela · 07/09/2020 10:45

If they are faulty they have to refund - and you have the receipt

WhatTimeIsItl · 07/09/2020 11:23

So I've had a look at the zip does not go up proper, it's like something has come away. Why didn't ds just tell me that - teenagers l!
I'll be going after work this afternoon and I'll explain to them

They were brilliant and refunded straight away. She said it would have only been a problem if I didn't have receipt.

That's good to hear. Well done TKMax 😌
