I hated school so much. Did terrible as I was bullied.
I went to a very small private school and they didn’t do many courses and there were a few that I would have loved to have done.

I must be the last person in the world to realise that I can just actually sign up and do some of these courses as GCSEs online. They don’t have any requirements for doing them.

Now. I’m nearly 50. But have lots of free time. Am I really stupid at thinking I could just do this. It is a subject that really interests me.
Anyone done this.

I did Spanish GCSE as an adult. Having taken evening classes for a couple of years, I decided i needed a challenge to focus my effort. I got an A*.

I didn’t take it further as I was pregnant, due around when the AS would have been.

Op, which subjects are you interested in?
Like Badbadbunny said, the CGP books are brilliant. So concise, and excellent for revision.

I did Maths and English at college last year as an evening course and it was free. My Maths tutor was ace. I'm 35 and I wasn't the oldest by a long way. They did a few tests at the beginning to see if you had enough prior knowledge to achieve the GCSE, if you didn't you could do a year of functional skills to prepare you for the GCSE the following year. As you can tell I absolutely loved it!

I did rubbish at school for various reasons and did an access course when I was 25. I did really well because I knew what I wanted to do and I had far more focus the second time around.

I went on to university and there were so many 'mature' students. One of my good friends was in her 50's and she managed it, so I don't see why you can't.
