Non fiction books for preschoolers

I'm looking for some really good/well illustrated/informative non fiction books for a preschooler. Can be on any subject - cars, animals, space, anatomy, plants, cooking, medicine, environment, electronics, recycling, etc.

Need a present for a kid who wants to know all about everything :)

Usborne do some " lift the flap - questions and answers" books on all sorts of subjects that are great for preschoolers.

Just Google Usborne books or Dorking Kindersley books. Both publishers have 100s of books on just about every subject and they are all very good.

If they are old enough to be careful then I would really recommend the Usborne Look Inside series. They have lots of lift up flaps which pre schoolers love and loads of information, simple enough for young uns but interesting enough for when they start to read by themselves in a few years.

The usbourne lift the flaps and look. Inside books are fab and also last quite well. My dd liked being shown/read them as a toddler and now enjoys reading them to herself (coming up to 6). I find it really hard to find books with longevity so these are a win

Another vote for usborne lift the flap books.

Busy books by Campbell, robust board books with lovely illustrations and interactive on each page with sliding or lift the flap actions.

Some of these are rather good:

The see inside books are good, maybe see inside a pirate ship?
My first book of garden birds was a big hit with my eldest.

I was going to say Usborne lift the flap books too. They seem to have them on any topic you can think of. Our dcs love them.

My son (3) is obsessed with Usbourne's lift the flap "What is Poo?" book.

It was given to him as a gift during the potty training phase and covers everything from different kinds of animal poos to where poo goes when you flush it down the toilet.

It sounds ridiculous but he LOVES it. Also, did you know blue whale poo is pink?

Have a look at ‘the book people’ website. They sell usbourne and others but all at very very good prices and you can filter by age and fiction/non so no trawling required.

The Book People business collapsed several weeks ago.
