Talk to me about frozen sliced bread please!

Kids are back at school next week and have to take pack up. I have heard people say they keep a sliced loaf in the freezer and just take out the slices that they need, or even that they make sandwiches up and freeze them.

What I want to know is, doesn't the bread come out soggy when it thaws? That's been my experience. How do you make this work?

I think you have to make sure the loaf is a bit loose in the freezer and not all pushed together.

When my kids were young I used to make up a batch of sarnies, Han, chicken, most things work and freeze them individually. Then in the morning I'd take them out and put them in their lunchboxes, keeping everything else cool and by lunchtime they would have thawed out
