Nausea and headache advice during periods

My periods are really annoying. Fully under the doctors for bad periods. I'm on iron etc. But the side effects that I've had since lockdown are just awful. I have no idea if it's just the change in routine and excercise or what.

I get nausea.
A squeezing sensation up one nerve in my neck. I often get a pounding head.
Then I get my cramps and hot flushes.
Weakness and lathargic.

I don't get everything at once but I still hate it.

Dropped my child of at school today feeling tired and abit yuck. Got home and started cleaning. Period nausea has kicked in. Necks getting tense. Hoping to escape a pounding head and sickly stomach 😫 I can get my partner to collect her later as we will be going in his car. But I think he wanted me to get her as he's working and is dropping us off for a favour for a few days whilst we get into it again.

Anyone found a cure?

I've taken Ibruprfen and paracetamol but the nausea stays even if the pain goes.

Tia.

Hi lovely, sorry you're feeling so rotten. Sounds very much like a migraine to me. I developed menstrual migraines in 2015, totally out of nowhere, and that's been my life ever since. If this happens regularly, I would highly suggest seeing your gp as there is lots that can be done to manage it. I got put on preventatives for the migraines and given painkillers to take as and when needed. I've had varying cocktails of medication over the years but what I'm on now generally works for me. I also got given special painkillers for period cramps too. If you manage to see a gp then go armed with your list of symptoms and tell them you have tracked dates etc so you can clearly see they are period related. Also have a look at your contraception if you're on any. I found I couldn't have any type of hormonal contraception whatsoever, as that made the migraines 10x worse. Hope that helps. Xx
