What would you rather have a small drier or small freezer?

For my birthday. Its so exciting to receive practical things. I share with another. I have minimum space and no outside vent. 48cms is as wide as I can go. There is a launderette five minutes away.

Im sick of not being able to buy the yellow stickers in M and S I literally could feed myself for a week on them😃

What would you go for and is it even possible to my an appliance so slim? Its only me to think about.

Freezer. I’m another one who’s never had a drier nor felt the need for one. I dry the laundry outside most of the year.

Def a freezer. We have a small drier which is handy sometimes but we use the bare minimum. I couldn't live without a freezer it saves doing so many shop trips as well as saving money on food.

Where's your washing machine? I stacked my tumble drier on top. With a very useful pull out shelf👍

But freezers are so useful...

I'd really aim for both🤣

Kittykatmacbill · 02/09/2020 10:54

Definitely a freezer!

TitsOutForHarambe · 02/09/2020 10:57

100% go for the freezer

Jackparlabane · 02/09/2020 10:59

Freezer. Meat and meals reduced, frozen veg, bit of bread. I have a dryer but use it about 3x a year - it's more efficient and less noisy to hang clothes on line or racks in summer, radiators in winter.

We have a spare fridge and freezer atm we were going to get rid of, but then in lockdown they were invaluable (buying food for 6, youngest nearly a teen, weekly rather than daily, became feasible).

Never had a drier but couldn't be without a freezer.

Honestly as they would both need to be so small I would opt for something else. Btw, I love that you do practical things for presents. I do too!

A small freezer sounds ideal for one person - especially if she mainly wants to use it for some reduced or multi buy ready meals which are quite compact.

You don't need a vent for a tumble drier if you buy a condensing model. However, I'm no help as I couldn't do without both. I love to stock up on the reduced meat at M&S.

Mashingthecompost · 02/09/2020 15:00

Freezer. I use dryer for towels etc but that calls for a big one. Dryer shortens the life of clothes too.

DarkMintChocolate · 02/09/2020 15:13

My drier is a condenser. All the water extracted from the clothes ends up in a drawer, which I have to empty after about 4 loads (depends on how heavy the clothes were though, like towels). So long as you only use it, while you are in and awake, the fire risk should be minimised. I don’t put mine on, just before bedtime.

If I had to choose, I would go for a drier - saves condensation and damp air in the winter!

DarkMintChocolate · 02/09/2020 15:14

Sorry, I should have added, my drier needs no venting.

MitziK · 02/09/2020 16:52

I had one of those little freezers.

It was SHIT.

I'd go for the drier. put the vent hose into a collection tub (don't know the exact term for them, but they're a way to collect the condensate) and have clean, dry clothes without paying out the fortune that launderettes charge or, worse, when they close to become a nail bar/tattoo parlour, which two have near me.
