5 year old with BO

Our 5 year old has B.O from her armpits on hot days. I've googled it and it's a mixed bag, some say it's a concern and others just suggest antiperspirant. Any experience? Should I contact a Gp?

Same as my DS who is also 5. I was getting a bit lazy and just letting him bath/wash alone, I now use one of those puffy things and put shower gel on and give his underarms a good wash daily. That seems to do the trick. If we’ve missed the bath I put a bit of bionsen deodorant on.

I just put it down to the fact he’s naturally oily - he never needs moisturising or had eczema, even in the depths of winter.

Are you using proper soap under there? That should knock it on the head at 5. Also washing and drying the underarms on clothes thoroughly

DD has been like this since maybe 4. We use a good soap ( not dove) as a gentle roll on deodorant.

No definitely dont use deodorant on a small child. I dont think its normal, no. But I have been wondering the same thing as my dd's sweat does smell while my ds's doesnt at all. Strange. I did contact the dr about it recently but missed their return call and i havent called back yet. It sounds so trivial, but doesnt seem right to me.

Thanks guys. Dr google says BO shouldn't possible as they're too young and it's a sign of precocious puberty which is obviously hugely worrying. Equally some sites report its normal and to just wash regularly.

She baths/showers daily. It's only on warm days. There are no other signs she's old for her age.
