Are you supposed to wear pjs underneath?

Hi

Daft question.

My toddler has only just started sleeping in her own bed.

My house is always cold even with the heating on but as the temp is dropping the house is like the fucking Antarctic

DD always kicks covers off in her sleep so was looking around to see what I could get that might help and saw this.

Am I supposed to put pjs on her underneath? Or are they the pjs?

I’d say yes PJs but keep duvet off

ToadCandle · 31/08/2020 20:10

What a great idea! I just read the info and it said to take into account your child’s sleepwear, so on top I reckon. Also, you want to not have to wash it really regularly. It’s to sleep in only - don’t be tempted to let her eat breakfast in it! Out of bed, togs off, dressing gown and slippers on!

I had these, they are great! Yes PJs underneath. I had a couple so we had one to hand in case of a nappy leak, you may want more if you don't have a tumble dryer as they took a little while to dry. Like a PP said take them off before breakfast.

Thanks OP, I really like these. DS is younger but he doesn’t like his sleeping bags and blankets also get kicked off. Was going to need to research something before it gets chilly! These are a great option.

Hi @summerfruitsrainbow yes PJ's underneath- have a look at slumbersacs my DS is the same kicks covers off and we're in an old house still renovating. Despite new heating system his room is always freezing 🥶 I use Slumbersacs with feet so he is toasty my DH wants an adult size one Grin. Here is the link www.slumbersac.co.uk

Have never seen these before. Sounds like it should be PJs underneath as it's a blanket replacer. My DS used to have something that was like a mini sleeping bag that clipped in place at the shoulders, which was for the same reason as this blanket replacer, but didn't have sleeves.

This looks lovely! My DD is just growing out of her Gro Company “gro romper” (similar thing) and they don’t make them any bigger - she is so comfy in them though!

If she likes these we could get the whole of this winter out of them as they go up to age 3. Thanks OP!

WhatamessIgotinto · 31/08/2020 22:10

I would totally love one of them for myself.

CountFosco · 31/08/2020 22:11

I'd be concerned they kicked off the bootees. What about a grobag, basically a baby sleeping bag. No trouble with cold feet and clear instructions about what to wear underneath.

Rhianna1980 · 31/08/2020 22:44

We had two of these and we loved them! Yes Pjs go underneath. My children didn’t like the booties, I used to put socks on them instead. HTH

There's a link on the description OP that you click and it tells you what to put them in depending on the ambient temperature of your house.

It's just like a sleeping bag in terms of the tog rating, so sleep clothes underneath are similar.
