Need to dump new hairdresser friend.

I've recently moved to a new area and have begun to make friends with a family who lives locally who have a DC the same age as mine. I have got on well with the woman and enjoy her company.

She is a hairdresser and runs a salon. I needed a haircut and as in my old home I used a very good mobile hairdresser, I asked my new friend whether she provides a mobile service or if she could recommend someone who does.

She said that she would be happy to cut my and my DC's hair at home, and she duly came and did so.

The trouble is, she told me as I was having the cut that she doesn't normally do a mobile service, and unfortunately I think that it showed. I really am not keen on the way she cut my hair and I just cannot get it to sit right since.

I'm intending to get my hair cut again at a salon that comes highly recommend, but am just wondering what to say if she sees me with a new cut and/or asks if I want her to do it again.

What should I say if she does bring it up?

Tell her you’re growing it into a different style. Then if you see her when it’s been cut, tell her you changed your mind and didn’t want to take advantage of her.

Just tell her that you went to a recommended salon. People go to different business suppliers all the time.

A relative got you a voucher for x salon.

Id lie, and tell her you have found a mobile hairdresser as you dont want to take advantage of her.

I had a mobile hairdresser who was a great friend. The last time she fucked up, badly. People actually laughed it was that bad. 5 years later Im still swearing blindly to her I cut and dye it myself to avoid her coming round again Blush

I used the excuse that I got a voucher for X salon for my Birthday when I was in a similar situation.

Or you could say a young relative has started a college course and is doing your hair as practice.

Tell her you miss the salon experience and are going elsewhere

Being a hairdresser I wouldn't care you'd gone somewhere else.. I'd notice but I wouldn't comment as I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. It's really not that big of a deal. Clients move on all the time.. you can't take it personally.

I hope she is level headed enough not to take offence. I think that I will have to come up with some excuse for visiting a salon soon as I don't want to wait another 4 weeks or so with a cut that just looks awkward. It will probably need a restyle so it will be fairly obvious that I've had it cut again.
