Okay so DD 15 now.

Before lock down back in March I was at the point where I had life set up, groups for DD etc in a way that I was thinking oh great, that is sorted now i can do more for myself, think about losing weight, learning to drive, voluntary work, I don't know...just generally moving forward in life. I like to feel I'm not tool old mid fifties

Since lockdown and home schooling I'm on sickness benefits I feel so so stuck now, feeling like I haven't been able to make progress on anything.

Hoping that school start might change things. Anyone else feel like this. guess i should just be grateful that we haven't had Covid...

Getting your dd back into school routine is the perfect time to kick start a routine for you.

I'm sure there are plenty of volunteering opportunities at the moment so maybe start there? Local fb pages are a good place to look.

Have a look at your diet and exercise and make some changes that you can sustain, such as substituting some healthier foods and working some light exercise like walking into your day.

Learning to drive is just a case of finding a good instructor. It might take a little longer at the moment with the covid backlog but if you can manage one lesson a week it will be a great start.

Take it all at a pace that you can manage so you don't get too overwhelmed and are tempted to give up.

Hi
People are starting to get back to normal now. There are bootcamps in our local park and even some socially distanced yoga classes. So you could look out for what is restarting in your area and just take the plunge and sign up for one of them.

If you are broke because of Covid, there are still loads of things you can do and you can make a small programme for yourself.

Online fitness - Yoga by Adrienne is brilliant - lots of different lengths and abilities, from 10 minute gentle stretches to testing flows. There are loads of own body weight (so you need no kit) HIIT you tube videos too, from 5-10 minutes. Do one of those every day and you are guaranteed to feel better.

Sign up for My Fitness Pal to log your eating and join communities that support you in weight loss.

You could try some free online courses. EdX and FutureLearn are good. And some unis run their own. Just Google them.

You can start prepping your driving theory with free online tests.

Better to plan to do 10-30 mins a day heading in the right direction (10 mins exercise, 10 mins online learning, 10 mins driving theory etc) than overwhelm. Maybe keep a notebook so you can log what you do day by day.

I really appreciate these responses. Just hanging in there a couple more days to get the DD started back at school. Even if we have to home school again sooner or later it would be a load off. Single parent wise it's been one heck of a slog. Trying not to moan but it really felt as if my entire support network of school etc fell apart from one day to the next.

I really appreciate this encouragmeent. any more ideas very welcome thanks for taking the time.
