Just that really Smile

DH is working 6am until 2pm today, just me and the DC for the minute.
They are deep in a baby shark marathon, I'm procrastinating on here until I can be bothered putting the mountain of clothes away that have piled up all week.
Visiting family later, before going to get my nails done and DH is making burgers for tea.

What about you all?

Prepped a lamb casserole which is now in the slow cooker. Tidied up the kitchen while I did that. Need to have a tidy round and hoover of the rest of the house today. Watching a film with DD this evening with a couple of glasses of wine. Nothing very exciting!

Susiesue61 · 30/08/2020 12:25

DS2 is playing cricket, will follow him and DH down later.
Sounds like DD and DS1 are up now 😊 DD is out out later so will be taxiing and then worrying! DS1 is going out with his mates this afternoon.
Need to get on and make tea before i go to cricket but I'm weary

wendz86 · 30/08/2020 12:39

We came back from my parents house this morning. DD2 has had her swimming lesson.
We have just had lunch. We are going to go to park this afternoon and i am going to attempt to teach dd2 to ride her bike without stabilisers.

gingercat02 · 30/08/2020 12:45

I've tidied up a bit. Made some soup, Mum coming for lunch. Watching F1 and then sorting last bits for DH 50th next weekend

Dollywilde · 30/08/2020 12:45

Snuggles on the sofa with brand new 13 day old DD Smile Quite achey today so suspect our ‘let’s try and get outside every day even if it’s just for a short walk’ plan might get abandoned. Trying to not give myself a hard time for being sat on the sofa in PJs at lunchtime with unwashed hair... I know I gave birth less than 2 weeks ago but it feels bad!

meow1989 · 30/08/2020 12:46

We are waiting to go for a covid test as ds2 is poorly with a temp. Poor little thing, I knew as soon as he went back to jursery we would have bugs galore!

notthemum · 30/08/2020 13:34

Dolly. You have a precious new bundle to cuddle and love. That is wonderful. Do not feel bad about sitting on sofa in pj's (baby doesn't care).
Congratulations on your LO.
Be kind to you and enjoy this time. 💐🍫🍧.

Dollywilde · 30/08/2020 13:52

Thank you @notthemum! I’m trying very hard not to beat myself up for all the vegging, give it a few more days and I’m sure I’ll adapt fantastically Grin DD is scrumptious which does make it easier...

NeedWineNow · 30/08/2020 13:55

It’s my birthday. Had a lazy morning, just about to go for a pint with friends. Chinese takeaway and the new Strike on BBC later. Should have been in Greece so not quite the same but there’s always next year Smile

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/08/2020 13:59

Seems to be a tv day. I’m watching the T20 cricket, DH in another room flipping between Tour de France and F1.

Can’t wait for Strike tonight.

Have done some gardening.

PenguinsOnParade · 30/08/2020 14:13

No different to any other weekend here. DH is working, DD has school tomorrow but I thought yesterday was Sunday so uniforms are all washed and drying. Just watching TV and tidying up here and there during the breaks.

lachy · 30/08/2020 14:21

Just eaten lunch, sorting out the wardrobes, bagging up bags of stuff to go to the charity shop, being very ruthless as we've just sold our house.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 30/08/2020 14:24

I’m currently ignoring the huge pile of washing to be put away/packed for a week away that starts tomorrow.
DP has gone to pick up DSD with DS in tow so I’m using the 30mins peace to do some mumsnetting and in a mo I’m going to do some hypnobirthing breathing practice and a relaxation session. It makes me feel utterly blissful.

HappydaysArehere · 30/08/2020 17:27

Thank you ListenLinda hoping to improve in a few days with the help of tablets galore from A&E. Have a good weekend.

LadyCatStark · 30/08/2020 19:42

We went paddleboarding on Windermere then had steak and chips for tea. DH is watching errrrmmm I’m going to say World Superbikes and I’m trying to psych my self up to go and put the paddleboard and wetsuits away as they’ve been drying in the garden.

HeyMicky · 30/08/2020 19:49

It was DHs birthday so we massively over catered a family BBQ. Now recovering from the meat sweats 😳

TwoZeroTwoZero · 30/08/2020 20:24

I went for a walk to Spurn Point today. I didn't realise how long the path was! We've walked around 6 miles, quite a lot of it on soft sand, and my hip is killing me. Now I'm home I've taken 2 or dh's strong painkillers and am laying on the settee feeling all fuzzy and sleepy. Dc are in their rooms reading and dh is out having a smoke.

Bluewavescrashing · 30/08/2020 20:26

We've been to the zoo today. Quiet evening here, DS is already in bed and DD and DH are playing planet zoo and snacking. I'm in the bedroom enjoying some peace.

Serena1977 · 30/08/2020 20:37

Been on a long bike ride today. Now having tea and crumble for pud and watching The Crown.

TheGrayChapter · 30/08/2020 21:20

Spent most of the day doing bits and bobs in the garden.

Had a M&S pizza deal for dinner and now snuggled on the sofa with the fire going (it’s bloody freezing again tonight)

LuluJakey1 · 30/08/2020 21:26

Took the children out for a long walk - we walked, DS1 rode his bike, DS2 (14m) in his pushchair and DD (3.5) refused to walk and rode on the back of the pushchair for 3hours or sat on DH's shoulders singing 'It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring' repeatedly. Came home, had veggie cottage pie followed by plum crumble and custard. Watching tv. DH in the bath.
