What’s the best diary system for being organised this year?

Just that really. 5 DC, 1DH, 1Dog, Job etc. Every September I try something different to be organised. Wall planners, notebook diary (week to view), I phone calendar and last year the Cozi app.

Yet still I make appointments and then forget to put them in the diary or I do put them in and then forget to check it. Forget birthdays (not my own DC obvs Smile ) and other important things.

I just can’t seem to find a good foolproof system. I am very attached to my iPhone so I think that should be the key but then I found with the Cozi app that it took a while to put the appointments in so I often thought “I’ll do it later” and then forgot,

Anyone happy to share their organised appontment/reminder keeping systems?

Love my box clever calendar. I've just set up a family diary on our phones too.

If someone asks me what I'm doing on a day when I'm out then I just set a reminder to check once home. That way I don't have to answer right away but when I get home I can have a look and then get back to them.

Everything gets written on the calendar I get the same one every academic year to start in Sept.

@pleasestoprainingplease. I think that is the key, it’s all well and good having diaries and wall planners etc but just yesterday I agreed to have someone else’s child as a favour over the phone without checking the diary. Of course when I looked at it later I already had something in for the same time. So annoying. I think I need to slow down, and get in to the habit of not agreeing to anything unless I’ve checked the diary first!!

Full Focus Planner is good. Once you buy one you can do it yourself.

Yep, no system works unless you actually remember to use it and check it, OP!

agree with PP - Bullet Journal has been life changing for me. I have treid just about every diary/planner/app out there but the best by far has been my Bullet Journal. I am now using a Scribbles That Matter one with some pre-printed templates in it, an insert in a lovely cover, but any notebook will do really. I have monthly spreads, then weekly ones with room to write all appointments plus things I need to remember to do that day. Lots of space for lists etc as well. I have a whole section dedicated to Christmas planning for example with lists of gifts/ food/ decorations etc that I can keep updating as I go. I had lists for back to school stuff/camping stuff etc and the best bit is EVERYTHING is in the same place. I have some things on subscibe and save on amazon and I note down in my BJ when various things will be delivered for example, I note when I changed the printer ink and when I need to order more, meal plans, shopping lists, all appointments for dc etc, etc...
I have 6 dc (although 3 now at uni) , 3 dogs and 2 cats plus a full time job - so a LOT to keep track of, but this works for me!!

So the problem is you, not the system you use. Just buy a cheap diary and start to use it!!
