What would you do with a second lounge?

We are in the process of buying a house that has a little (4 x 2.5M) room off the kitchen that the current owners use as another little lounge/tv room.

As it's just me and DP we dont really need another TV room so just musing over what to do with it!

We are having an office/study upstairs so that's taken care of.

Has anyone got any dreamy ideas I can start obsessing over? I do like the idea of a music room but I only play the piano very badly!

Depending on how large the kitchen itself was - I would probably turn it into a utility room/pantry to maximise space for the kitchen - i do all my ironing im front of the tv (to distract me as I hate it!lol) so I'd be in there wathing TV and then could shut the door on it all without needing to put anything away if I say hadn't finished everything.

Or give it over to the children for a play room.

Def a pantry.

We viewed a house once that had a door off the kitchen. Behind it was a very short corridor which led into THE most spectacular pantry I've ever seen. It had a glass ceiling so was lovely and light, shelves from floor to ceiling, a hatch in the floor which led to a wine cellar and carousel units in it too.

The rest of the house was horrific but I was sorely tempted based solely on that secret room!

Lego room. I dream of having a dedicated Lego room, with display shelves, and brick drawers, and building tables...

Yes, nice reading/sewing room with comfortable chairs and lovely lamps and rugs. How about a 'drinks' corner with all the stuff laid out for cocktails with a small wine fridge? Sounds good to me!

Music room and library. I have shedloads of books, and DH has shedloads of guitars.

Omg you lot are ace. Love the idea of a reading/board game room.

@MagicSummer that is absolutely happening, I've got a little cabinet that used to belong to my grandad currently in the shed that would make the PERFECT little bar 😍

Cant wait to make it all colourful and cosy!

@RhymesWithOrange funny you've come up with one of the same suggestions as my DH... you can see straight through from the kitchen though and I'm not sure our friends and family would approve when they come round Grin
