How to heat just one room?

Thanks for opening! And this should probably go in Home and Garden but I know it doesn't get much traffic 😬

So our baby has recently moved into the nursery (woohoo) and all is well.

This morning however his hands were ice cold and we realised (as we'd not previously used this room) that with 3 external walls, it's the coldest room in the house. However, the only option for a nursery and all decorated and kitted out for him.

He's in high tog sleeping bags even in August which makes me worry for winter.

So now to my question: we have Hive and he has a radiator with a thermostatic valve on it (all our radiators have them) but they are not the hive ones.

What is the best and most cost effective way as we come into Winter to separate out the nursery as a 'zone' and have just that room heated up more often. We usually in the winter just have it on for a few hours morning and evening but I think this room will need an overnight blast and possible weekend midday blast too!

Any suggestions or recommendations gratefully received!

We have had exactly this problem the last couple of nights and DS’s hands were like ice when I fed him in the night. We have ordered a plug in radiator but in the meantime I might turn off all radiators except his and move the thermostat into his room (it’s a mobile one)

I have a home office in the loft so similar problem - don't want to heat whole house for one little area. I have a plug in oil radiator. Does the job but obviously I don't know if you would want to like ace it running all night.

Otherwise can you just get the thermostatic valves on all radiators and turn them all down low apart from that one?

When I had a house which didn't have central heating in the top floor (converted from a loft in ancient times!) I bought a plug in oil filled radiator. I spent a bit extra to get the fancy model which included a timer and a thermostat and it was worth every penny. Didn't ever have to then worry about it being too cold, nor paying for it to be on unnecessarily.
