Anyone live in Oxford?

Visiting Oxford this weekend from the north of the UK - what is the best park and ride into the city between Oxford Parkway and Pear court?

Also, thinking of eating at Pierre Victoire - how far is this from where the park and ride drops you in the city? Is this Restaurant quite central to the main tourist bit of Oxford?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, @hownowbrowncow2234 - we've moved your thread over to Chat now, as requested.

Hope that helps and have a lovely trip. Smile

Bit confused by your Park & Ride question - are you travelling into Parkway by train? There’s a park and ride next to it. Then there’s another park and ride called Pear Tree, not Pear Court...?

Pierre Victoire is pretty central and a fairly short walk to the Ashmoleon, Covered Market, Christchurch...And is also where now-DH and I went the night before we started going out! In summer 1999. Grin

Thanks @Wigeon. Yes sorry meant Pear Tree. Coming in by car. The park & ride at the parkway looks to be closer but I wasn't sure if this one was a hassle as it seemed to say you can get confused with the train car park?

Do you know how long it will take me to wall from the park and ride drop off in the centre to Pierre Victoire please?

Oxford is a little city. Not much is more than 10/15 minutes walk from anything else centrally. I’d say the restaurant is no more than a 10 minute walk if that. Any park and ride will be fine. They are all fairly obvious and easy to manage.

Go to the first car park at Parkway but instead of getting the official P&R bus walk up to the main road and get any bus beginning with 2. They all stop near Pierre V. (NB When coming from the north Parkway is fiddly to find. Follow signs for Watereaton P&R.)

Yes, looking at the timetables on the park and ride website, either would be fine, one of them drops off at George St which is less than 10 mins walk from Pierre Victoire and the other says Magdalen St which is also less than 10 mins away. They might have more than one stop in the centre but again, anything is probably fine! Given Pierre Victoire is slightly north, then I guess one of the earlier stops would be good.

I’m sure you’ll have fun! Smile
