... by making one nostril too open and the other blocked and makes your chest feel odd and wheazy? Cause if there is, I have it and I don't like it.
If there isn't, I don't know what's wrong with me, bit it sucks.

I dunno about the blocked nose but I once had a really heightened sense of smell for a while. I was pregnant Grin

Yep, only when pregnant here too.

Maybe its hormonal?

rorosemary · 27/08/2020 16:00

Pregnancy gave me heightened smell and a stuffy nose.

Is your name Mary by any chance Grin.

Pregnancy

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 27/08/2020 16:07

Well praise be to the second coming... If only I'd got the first 'coming' I'll let you know if in 9 months you need to add a second Christmas to the calendar.

See I thought my nose was allergies or something, but no watery eyes.
Thought maybe dusty living room, so hoovered, opened windows more etc. No change.
Then I thought perhaps the plug in air freshener, turned it off and it helped a bit but it's still shit.
So I'm left with virus or illness but it's lasted weeks at this point.
I should go the docs... But what to say?
"I smell better than usual... New perfume.."😂

Wheezy chest and change in sense of smell? Yes I have heard of something going around but its name escapes me? Can anyone remember? Confused

Shush it ain't that.

I have no temperature and feel otherwise perfectly normalish.

Just feels like my nose is more sensitive to air than usual, if I stop breathing, that might help...

Is the nose thing a symptom of the two?

Jeez.. I better get the GPS then.

I've got a rotten cold currently and have those symptoms. (100% not coronavirus, I've been tested)

AriettyHomily · 27/08/2020 16:22

My neighbour had a heightened sense of smell as a coronavirus symptom...

BoogleMcGroogle · 27/08/2020 16:24

As I've got older this has started to happen to me just before my period. Today the fridge absolutely reeks of olives.

I picked up the cats food bowl earlier and it stank so bad of her food I almost wretched. Used boiling water to clean it with a big dollop of apple scented washing up liquid, that made me cough I could smell it so much... And don't even mention popping the loo after my DD had been in there for 10 minutes...Blush

Change in sense of smell and wheezy chest? You need a Covid test.

I've just booked myself one through the gov website. 60mile drive to Oldham for it tho, bummer.

Lol was coming to say pregnancy but you said it’s not. When I was pregnant I could smell everything. I felt like I could smell everyone’s breath on the train as if they were breathing right in my face 🤢

Hope it’s not coronavirus but good you’re getting a test.

ihoeihoeihoe · 27/08/2020 16:41

I always get one clear and one blocked when I’ve got a sinus infection, drives me absolutely bonkers

Lozz22 · 27/08/2020 16:44

Pregnancy gave me massive heightened sense of smell. Unfortunately it was also the biggest cause of my nausea and I couldn't leave my flat without the smells of other peoples cooking making me heave
