DH was stung by a wasp this morning, he has just showed me his arm now and I've never seen a wasp sting spread quite like that?

That looks nasty. Has he taken antihistamine tablet and applied topical antihistamine?
Ice and vinegar compress is usually very soothing.

Get him some antihistamine. It looks like he may be allergic to wasps.

Yes, my arse cheek looked liked that after I was stung, bloody painful it was.

Just read that it was this morning he got stung, don't think mine looked quite that angry for that long to be honest.

I've given him some portion type stuff that I got for the kids from Boots ( it's suitable for adults too at a 10ml dose ) I've never seen a wasp sting look that big that's all.

I've had two wasp stings and been hospitalised twice.
I now know to take antihistemine.
Keep an eye on it. My swellings ballooned very quickly.

Looks like he's had a mild allergic reaction. Needs to be careful as I started a bit like that then went on to have a full blown anaphylactic reaction and had to rush to a&e all swollen.

I had anaphylaxis with wasp stings. Treatment at hospital was 3 years of immunotherapy. When they injected me with a trillionth of the venom, that's what happened. Might be worse because it's in his muscle.
Ice, lots of antihistamine and trip to pharmacists in morning if still hot, red & hard (his arm...☺️)

That's a large local reaction.

Use antihistamine ASAP

I now carry a dose of steroids in case I am stung as I'm also allergic

That is what a sting looks like on me. Normally it’s miserable and angry like that for about a week. (One of the many reasons I love staying indoors)

I got cellulitis from a wasp sting. Draw around the swelling with a pen and if it has spread by morning phone the doctor urgently and get some antibiotics. Good luck.

I had something similar looking very recently, was from a hornet apparently, took over a week to look any better and still have a slight scab even now. I went to the pharmacist as the redness and swelling was growing but similar advice on here from PP.

My first wasp sting looked like that. My second was anaphylactic. I’d make sure he has a good dose of antihistamines and get it checked out if it shows no signs of improvement.

I thought that was a normal reaction .Partner stung overnight on outer side of elbow and resulted in similar - redder ,more swollen .But without the clear margins on OP's pics .

Which ,as mentioned ,might be cellulitis starting ?

Got partner to take anti histamines and ice pack .Took good 2 days to go down .
