This just happened tonight. My son’s 4.

I was putting my son to bed getting him dressed and he’s asking me why he’s got a pee pee. And then asked me if it’ll go away when he’s older.

I told him he’s a boy and it will still be there when he’s older like daddy’s.

I asked him if he wanted one and he said no. He said it might cut when he’s older.

I’m just a bit thrown back and wanted to know if this was common with little boys sometimes.

kids talk random crap quite a lot at that age

I pay it any more attention.

WorraLiberty · 22/08/2020 20:01

I wouldn't pay it any more attention

PoxyPixie · 22/08/2020 20:53

I agree with Worra kids say all kinds of weird things. I haven’t grown up to do any of the strange things I thought I wanted to do as a child.

CookieSW · 22/08/2020 22:00

Agreed. They say weird things. I know is weird also but when I was little I wanted to be a boy and 'pee like a boy with one' and that has no reflection on how I feel now about not having one. Im glad i don't have one haha.

He is too young for it to be a serious issue, am sure. Doesn't gender dysphoria start in teenage years?

yolio · 23/08/2020 01:04

He's lucky to be able to pee anywhere. I envy that appendage when I am bursting!

Ignore it for now and see how it goes.

Frownette · 23/08/2020 01:13

Why didn't you just tell him to go to the loo if he needs to go? Otherwise you're instilling in him that's unnatural.

When I was very young, I thought my clitoris would grow to be a penis like my brother's. I remember saying this to my DM (but not her response!).
