Micro scooters

They have a money off code at the moment and DS who will be 5 at Christmas wants a 2 wheeled scooter, and I already planned on getting younger DC a scooter - he won't be quite 2 but I planned on going for the ride along option micro that grows with him.

DS1 had a U-Move 3 wheeled Halfords scooter which was great, has taken a battering but it's well loved. It was £45-50 odd so no cheaper than the basic Micro with the ride along accessories.

The 2 wheeled scooter for DS1 is £120. Any suggestions for any others that are as good but cheaper or are Micro Scooters worth it?

My sister brought my nieces Globber scooters. Around £70 I think. Very sturdy & a nice weight. I want to get my ds one for his 3rd birthday. I'm sure Argos do them

I feel like micro scooters are worth the money. I've been a nanny for almost 20y and I think every family I worked for who bought a non micro as an alternative eventually gave in and bought one! They just seem to be sturdier. My own DD got one for Christmas at 21mo old and took to it immediately. I hadn't had much experience with the 2 wheeled ones until recently when my current charge got one, but I'm really impressed. It's really good quality and surprisingly smooth.

Definitely worth it. The cheaper ones don't handle so well and it puts the kids off using them.

It's been a long time since we started buying scooters (10+ years) but Micro were the best, great quality and great customer service for spares and repairs - my DS used to go everywhere on his and eventually parts would wear but we always got them fixed. On one occasion I had new wheel bearings but couldn't get the old ones out, a quick email to Micro who asked me to pop the wheel and bearings in the post to them and it came back a few days later all sorted.

Brilliant thanks everyone, I think that's cemented it. DS' U-Move scooter has lasted well but after a year of a lot of use it looks really battered. At £45 odd it's not much cheaper than a mini micro though.

About to splash out £180 on scooters Shock
