Has anyone been to Legoland since it reopened?

I am going next week with DS to stay in the hotel. I am thinking of
Getting the reserve and ride. We have never been before so don’t want to spend the whole day queuing but I’m
Not sure if they’re worth it? A few of the rides on the list are closed but that’s fine but I don’t want to waste my money. But then again I don’t want it to be hell!! Has anyone been in the past few weeks who can tell me whether they’re worth it? Or anyone’s who’s ever been, are they worth the money?

Oh and I was thinking of getting the £40 ones which say they cut queuing down by 50%

In normal times I wouldn’t go without getting the fast track.
We did once and Christ, we spent 80% of our time there queuing, never again.

Are they limiting numbers into the park? Might be quieter. Although with some rides shut the queues for the others might be long.

I’d still do it to be on the safe side.

I read that they’re limiting numbers but from the Facebook page it’s still really busy. We went to Alton towers the other week and if they were limiting numbers it wasn’t by many because it was absolutely packed so yeah I think I might just get them and hopefully they’ll be useful. Thanks!

Do they have an app with ride queue times? I’m sure they did, have a look on there and see what the times are like

saturdaynightgin · 20/08/2020 09:02

We went at the beginning of August and did two days in the park. Didn’t bother with reserve and ride on the first day, but got it on the second and it made such a difference! We also got the £40 ones and it worked out well.

There is an app with queue times, but it’s not always accurate, so be wary Smile

I came on to say that we’ve been to Alton Towers a lot and although I’m impressed with the cleaning and social distancing measures they have in place, the queue times would put me off going to LegoLand or any other Merlin attraction further away - but see that you’ve also been to AT recently so have a pretty good idea of what to expect (assuming they have the same precautions company wide).

We went early August and it was awful.

We arrived at opening but didn't get on a ride until 1pm due to various breakages. On ninjago we were in a queue for 2 hours as it broke down mid way through but they didn't say anything to the people actually queueing.

Legoland staff not friendly at all. Talking loudly about how many rides til they get to close at around 3pm!

Some other people (big men) were rude and aggressive - I get they are scared but shouting "get away from me" at my elderly mum in a mask when they were mask less makes me think a theme park not the place for them...

The driving license thing that used to be free was £12! Parking a surprise £8. Loads of rides closed "due to covid." The DS favourites were closed.. Food horrible but expensive. I've been to loads of theme parks and you expect expense but this one really felt like they were trying to squeeze as much money for as little in return.

So, I would buy the priority queue thing, take your own food..

Perfectstorm12 · 20/08/2020 17:32

Yes, definitely get priority queuing thing. We went a couple of weeks ago and spent ages queuing and I felt incredibly jealous of anyone with queue buster tickets! Pay the money if you can and enjoy sailing past lots of socially distant queues!

ShaunaTheSheep · 20/08/2020 17:42

Legoland staff have a lot on their plate dealing with the social distancing, endless cleaning and anxious customers, so its a bit harsh to slate on the basis of one overheard comment.

Although there are fewer people in the park, ride capacity is reduced and loading times are slower due to the continuous cleaning. On that basis definitely go fore the reserve and ride, but book in advance as they do sell out.

quentinquarantinio · 20/08/2020 18:16

Well there was that one comment but an overall general surly can't-be-arsed-ness and no interaction with the children. Compared to the cast members at Disneyland or Efteling or Europapark it was pretty depressing.

For balance, the manager was nice when we asked about all the rides breaking down.

ZeldaSmelda · 20/08/2020 18:19

Ok thanks everyone, going to book them now!
