Early Gender/sex test

Hi all, I am 10 weeks pregnant and would like to find out the gender of my baby ASAP, to tell my terminal ill mother (who only has a few weeks to live) what I am having. Can anyone recommend a UK based gender testing centre. I’ve read about blood tests being more reliable at this early stage, than scans (which aren’t very reliable until 16weeks). Any help/advice would be HUGELY appreciated xx

Hi

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I am so sorry to hear about your mum- I cant imagine what you are going through at the moment.

I had the harmony test done, mainly to check for downs etc, but it can also tell you the gender. Quite widely available, but it does cost. I went through my dr surgery- it has a sonographer who works there that also does private scans and the harmony test. Think it can be done from about 10 weeks and it's a blood test combined with a scan. Results were very quick.

Thank you @Waffle12

It’s an incredibly hard time at the moment.

I did read about Harmony. I guess it’s a lot for just a gender test, as I don’t need all the other tests right now. But it might be my only option.

I had the harmony test done. Good luck.

If you Google Sneak Peak then there are clinics in the UK offering blood tests which are 99.6% accurate (it was for me). You can also do this at home but it reduces accuracy to 50% so best off at a clinic.

Thanks @Chanel05 . I had looked into Sneak Peak, but then their reviews were so bad it suddenly put me off. People were getting the wrong results, not getting results, bad customer service, etc.... But maybe if I did it at a clinic the results would be more accurate, like you mentioned. Will look into.

@Star2021 yes, that's exactly why I didn't do mine at home! Where I went was a general clinic and my blood sample was taken by a phlebotomist.

Thanks so much, that’s really helpful!
