Suggestions for things to do in London which feel 'Special'

My husband and I have booked a few days in London at the end of September to celebrate an anniversary (all cancelable options booked just in case).

Looking for ideas of things to do / places to see that we might not have thought of.
We are staying just off Fleet st but happy to walk around the city (stayed in the same location last year and walked over 16 miles in one day!).

So far we've booked afternoon tea at the Ritz and are considering brasserie zedal and mother mash for places to eat and know that we want to visit a few shops we don't have at home such as Floris.

We'd normally go to a few of the larger museums and galleries but not sure which will be open and guessing theatres will likely still be closed.

All ideas welcome food related or otherwise!

The shard, museums are open but you need to book. I love the v&a.

Book and go to the "gong" restaurant, it's at the top of the shard, stunning views not cheap but well worth it..

also George's wine bar is a good experience, it's a tiny little wine bar and you stand outside under heaters, great atmosphere and they do cheese boards and lovely wines, it's listed in the top 20 bars in the world, but it even has sticky floors and the toilets want that great 😂 it's just the whole place has a good feel to it.

It kind of hidden away as well.

What about a boat trip? Those are running now and you can book an evening cruise.

There is also something lovely about just walking around London in the evenings, we walk around St. Paul's, across the bridge to the Tate modern and just explore all of the streets.

If the weather is nice a picnic in Hyde park?

London to me is such a walkable city and yet people always use the underground, so I'd just suggest staying above ground maybe use the busses?

Have a lovely time x

Dinner at Clos Maggiore
Spa treatments at Cowshed
Hire a GoBoat to go down the canals around Paddington
If it’s sunny Boris biking around the parks. Now they’ve put in loads more cycle lanes you can very safely cycle around Hyde Park, down to St James, Green Park and Buckingham Palace and then down to the south bank

Don’t pay for the view from the Shard, book a table at Gong instead for drinks. They rotate you after a while so everyone gets a chance to sit in the window.

I've definitely going to take a look at the shard as that seems a popular choice.

@mellowgreenspring lots of ideas there, thank you!

The Shard gets nice views and so do the other skyscrapers.
A thing on my wishlist is a helicopter tour over London and renting a motorboat to enjoy the river.
