Hi can anyone explain to me what the whole fuss is about what's gone on over the past year?
I don't get it

I don't quite understand it, but it seems that Chris Poole may have sold some rights to use C&M to a private company. There was a falling out and the Company is playing hardball.

I just miss the cats and want them back.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 12:30

I think they are back now there are videos and pictures on there but aren't they his cats?
If they're his cats I don't understand why he couldn't post them?

There is a difference between them being his cats and his right to use them to make money - esp. if he sells this right.

I don't understand properly and it all seems to be hushed up.

Where are the new videos?

I can't see them?

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 12:43

Oh ok

I think it's sorted now from what I've seen on Facebook? He posted something about it a few days ago

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/08/2020 12:45

Yes, I saw that, but no actual new videos :(.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 12:46

Oh right thought it was. Maybe I'm wrong. Confusing

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/08/2020 12:50

Yeah. Confusing. I wonder if he will have to set up news sites to host the videos?

Gingernaut · 15/08/2020 12:56

Chris the Cat Man is Poole.

He entered what he thought was a three way partnership to extend the reach of the rescue message and ended up fired from the company and prevented from posting on social media.

Certain titles are still copyrighted, but Chris Poole can post.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 12:59

So he thought it was a partnership but actually he was employed by them? So they could fire him?
What did he get fired for?

I have seen that video - but I still don't quite understand it all :(

UsernameN0Tavailable · 15/08/2020 13:03

He allowed 2 men to who had digital and marketing experience to buy into the brand by setting up a company (Digital Pet Media), in order to get the money to set up his own rescue. The new company then owned the rights to the digital assets (i.e. photos and videos of the cats). Unfortunately chris and the 2 business partners all owned 33% of the company each and after 6 months or so, the 2 new business partners then ganged up on him and fired him from the company.

He was still a 33% owner, but had no control or decision making ability on the c&m and CatmanChris social channels.

The court case for the last 6 months has been Chris trying to gain control of it, which he now has as the contracts were all really dodgy and pages he hadn't seen were added after he had signed.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 13:07

Ok I think I get it a bit more now
I just don't understand how he can be fired if he's still a owns an equal amount of the company?
And how he has no control if he still owns an equal amount of the company?

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/08/2020 13:09

They owned 66% and Chris 33%.

Fuck I hope those arseholes had to pay costs and compensation.

Chris is a good guy.

purpleme12 · 15/08/2020 13:13

So they were dodgy people in the end

OP posts:
UsernameN0Tavailable · 15/08/2020 13:24

He was an owner but also worked for the company and took a salary because he created all the content and dis all the social media. His wife wasn't an owner, but was also a salaried employee of the company.

Both of them were fired as employees, but Chris retained his 33% ownership, but because the other 2 owners had 66% combined they made decisions (like firing him) and he couldn't overule them as they together owned the company majority.
