Weird noise in house.... 3/4 high pitched beeps

So we’re all in bed. I’m the only one awake.

Out of the blue I hear 3 or 4 high pitched beeps, followed by pause, followed by 3 or 4 more. Then nothing more after that or since.

Pretty loud, and ear piercing and feel certain it came from inside our house, although all the windows are open so maybe from outside. I don’t know.

I immediately thought smoke alarm, Went downstairs and no smoke, to fire, and the alarm was still quiet. Checked all rooms downstairs, silent and no smoke or anything.

I feel sure our smoke alarm has a slightly lower pitch to it anyway... this was really high pitch. Happened twice and nothing since.

I’m now sat here wondering what it was and on edge that it might happen again?!

Any suggestions????

It’ll probably be near the boiler somewhere. My boiler’s in the kitchen and the alarm’s on top of the cupboard next to it.

For us it was the Ikea cupboard which had a lock on it that beeped when running out of batteries,

Smoke alarm battery. An empty flat in my block had this for weeks and it drove us demented

Washing machine malfunction?

We had this in the middle of the night the other week and it was my daughter's walkie talkies - she had left one on and it was the warning that the battery was running down, it took ages to find!

Dimmer Switch.

Our dishwasher does this to say it is finished. Also our smart meter beeps when the wifi is down.
