There's an hour a day where my baby just won't settle... is this normal?!

He's five months old. Super tired. Every evening about this time, he doesn't want feeding, doesn't want to lay down, or sit up, or be held, or be in a bouncer, doesn't want songs, doesn't want quiet... I dread it!

I usually have to come and lay with him on my bed and let it pass before he will feed slowly and quietly to sleep, and then I daren't move him so I'm here for the night too lol frazzled myself!

Ah the witching hour. I have no advice but yes it's common. Googling that term may throw some suggestions

Yep my mother even remembers my sisters witching hour time if questioned as she was particularly bad

Oh . Yes . My children are middle aged now but I remember it well . All of them . 6 every evening . It will pass . ☺️

Yep the witching hour. Carries on for a while I'm afraid. Particular comeback at the beginning of reception when tiredness makes them completely unreasonable.

Yep we definitely experienced the witching hour. It was always at the time my dh arrived home from work. Poor bloke was met at the door every night by a frazzled wife and screaming baby. Think it passed by about 6 months.
