Where can I buy some cotton bedding that isn't covered in horrible chemicals?

Just that, really.

In the last couple of months I've bought new bedding from both Wayfair and M&S. Both of them arrived with an awful smell and I had an allergic reaction even though we washed them several times.

I know there are some specialist allergy bedding companies but they're really expensive and don't seem to be made of cotton. I'd just like to buy some "normal" cotton bedding that isn't treated with whatever it is they treat it with. I know they sometimes treat new clothes with formaldehyde or something but bed sheets are just getting too much.

Ikea, jysk and local independent shop (so absolutely no use to you!) are where ours are from. Not had an issue and DS has very sensitive skin.

Any other suggestions please?

It could be an allergy to the dyes/ pigments used.

Duns Sweden or Frugi have limited choices in organic cotton. Only in single though. The Swedish way is to have two singles together and two singles duvets rather than a 1big one.

Maybe try Greenfibres?

Yes Greenfibres is great

I've bought really nice cotton bedding from La Redoute before.

Mostly I buy from TK Maxx.

FourEyesGood · 14/08/2020 09:09

I got some organic cotton bedding in TK Maxx earlier this week.

H&M have organic cotton bedding, it’s not very expensive so might be worth a try. Look for the Conscious range.

Have you tried Lidl? I dont have personal experience of their bedding, but a lot of their fabrics carry the Oeko Tex label, which means they've been tested for, and found free of, the presence of various harmful chemicals used during processing.

If you can't find anything suitable at Lidl (because I think bedding is one of their "aisle of wonder" products that they only carry occasionally), try googling Oeko Tex bedding.

I bought organic cotton bedding online from a hotel supplier, wasn't expensive and washes at 60 without shrinking

Thanks everyone. I have a look at these.

I buy mine from Just Linens, which is Dawsons Online. I buy high thread count Sheridan linen at a reduced price.

Its a bit of a habit as we used to have a second hand Sheridan store close by when we married and happened to be able to afford it from an early age because of the discount. Its lasted and lasted, and so comfortable, we still do.

Ive not noticed it come with any coating, although I wash linen on arrival anyway.
