Worried about how to cool baby

Our flat is bloody boiling at the moment. We are doing all we can- ventilation, fans everywhere, blinds closed during the day, luke warm baths, nappy only...but the baby is baking hot all the time. Keep checking temperature and unless he's actually in the luke warm bath then it is mid 37's. I feel so worried all the time! What do other parents do? Surely babies in hotter climates must be hot all the time!?

I used a wet flannel regularly.

Don’t panic first of all! Baby will be fine, promise Smile

I used to wet a flannel and drape over DD’s tummy which she loved. If baby is old enough to gnaw on things, a wet flannel frozen is great, as is breast or formula milk for ice lollies.

Tbh in the end I bought an aircon unit for DD’s bedroom, but try and wait until winter when they’re half the price. Then you’ll be prepared for next year.

37 for baby temperature is normal.

I used to get leave them in their nappy tbh when at home and something very light when we went out. Avoided 11am - 3pm. Ensure they are getting enough fluids and depending on the age, ice whether flavored or plain water.

Take baby out in the pram - there might be a bit of breeze, and the change of air will do you all good.

A fan with a frozen bottle of water standing in front of it
